At First Capital Bank, we believe that the great state of Virginia is made even stronger through the caring and dedicated volunteer service of individuals and businesses alike. We are grateful for the opportunity to join with others in our community who keep Central Virginia's great volunteer spirit alive and growing! A part of First Capital Bank's Mission Statement is to 'Embrace Our Community'.
In August of 2008, First Capital Bank held its first annual 'Stuff the Bus' drive for school supplies. First Capital Bank teammates, stationed in City of Richmond school buses in local retail parking lots, collected donations of new school supplies for students in need. The 2008 supplies were donated to the YMCA's Bright Beginnings program, one of the many services that the YMCA provides to the Richmond Metro area. This program helps more than 2,500 children from low-income families to arrive on their first day of school with a new backpack filled with school supplies, new clothes, shoes and a readiness to learn.
Additional 'Stuff the Bus' campaigns took place in August, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Many thanks to so many in the Richmond area for their very generous contributions to this good cause. First Capital Bank teammates were glad to be able to make donations to several fine groups which serve the community so well. Donations in 2012 were made to local students through Market Ashland Partnership, St. Joseph's Villa, Richmond Outreach Center, Henrico Education Foundation and Hilliard House.
As a team, First Capital Bank employees have also had the privilege of serving the community through participation with the groups listed below, all of which make Central Virginia a great place to be!
Additionally, individual First Capital Bank employees serve in leadership positions and donate many personal hours of service to over fifty local and national non-profits throughout the year. Throughout the year, you can find First Capital Bank employees working side by side with others in the community helping others in a variety of ways through the following groups:
